Killarney Celtic was rocked yet again to its core as we learned of the passing this morning of yet another Club Legend and Trustee Paudie O’ Callaghan. Predeceased by his father Dermot and brothers Donal and Dermot Junior.
Paudie was an integral part of the essence of Killarney Celtic . An outstanding player and force to be reckoned with on the field of play Paudie was held in the highest respect amongst his fellow team mates and opponents alike. Later as a Club official and Trustee, he was astute and business like his counsel in conjunction with his fellow trustees was always , fair, engaging and considered. He was always interested in the affairs of the Club and had a genuine affection for all things Killarney Celtic. He will be greatly missed by all of us here at the Club. Much more than this of course Paudie was a loving Husband , Father, Grandfather , Son , Brother , Uncle, Cousin and friend The loss and pain being felt right now by his close family and friends is unconscionable . Our Sincere condolences to his wife Valerie, daughter Megan, granddaughter Rubie, Megan’s partner Cillian, his mother Mrs O’ Callaghan, brothers Colm, Michael, Niall, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces , nephews , cousins and everyone that knew him and was touched by the life of Paudie O’ Callaghan.
Rest in peace Paudie you have left us far too soon but your memory will live on in the Killarney Celtic Story and the Story of your town.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.
