An exciting night in Celtic park tonight where the U14A team played with great courage and skill , constantly trying to a passing game which helped them dominate the game against a physical iveragh team , who fought to the end and even after. Cillian scannell had a brilliant run at start of game and squared a beautiful pass but with goal at our mercy we couldn't hit the net. But shortly after Cillian buried into back of the net himself. Celtic continued to pile on the pressure and while Iveragh had the odd counterattack. Celtic got their second through great interplay finishing with a great cross from Evan O’Donoghue and a stunning volley from Paul McGrath coming in from opposite wing. 2 nil at half time.
Iveragh capitalized on a couple of defensive errors and clawed back into the game drawing at full time. Wih Sean Angland coming off with cramp after his great running from left back , we saw young Jake Scannell coming on for his debut at U14, as we had no other subs due to injuries , so a big thank you to Jake who played brilliantly,
Extra time saw Celtic take over again and Cormac O’Sullivan added a third and Cillian Scannell completed Celtic’s score of 4. Iveragh fought back and scored their third and final goal. 4 -3 it finished in celtics favour. Hard to pick best bit the few that stood slightly above the rest were Noah Brosnan, Cormac O’Sullivan , Cillian Scannell , Paul McGrath and man of the match Emmanuel iheme. Great team performance.
