We hosted Park A this evening in the cup and, the scoreline, doesn’t reflect the true effort and quality of our performance.

We started brilliantly, putting Park on the back foot with some superb football. Jack was inches away from putting us ahead with a flowing move that just skimmed the post.

Our defence—Mark, Gavin, James, Fionn Spellman, and Cian—were solid, with Fionn exceptional until he had to come off due to a head injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Midfield was dominant, with Jace, Sean, Fionn C., and Tiernan winning everything. Their pressure paid off when Eoin was brought down after a strong run. He dusted himself off and confidently put us 1-0 up. We stayed on top and soon went 2-0 up with a lovely finish from Sean Doyle.

Park responded as strong teams do, scoring three quick goals before halftime. It was harsh to go in 2-3 down, but that’s football.

In the second half, we continued to battle, but couldn’t claw our way back. Substitutes Dean, Cathal, Nathan, and Robbie all contributed well, while Josh was excellent stepping in at centre back.

👏Best of luck to St. Brendan’s Park in the next round—we can be proud of our performance and go again.
