In a windy Ardfert the senior ladies continued their good run of form.
Celtic went behind early conceding a very well taken goal from LB’s only corner of the half, Tara Cronin did well getting down but the power of the shot saw the ball ricochet off her arms and into the net.
All through the first half, while playing into a very strong wind Killarney found it extremely difficult to break down an uncompromising LB defence.
Amber McIndoe came close as did Katie Doe while Ellie May,Selina Collins and Norma O’Mahoney worked hard down the flanks.
The second half started with Celtic upping the tempo and indeed played much of the remainder of the game in the opposition half.
Katie Doe now grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and went toe to toe with the tough LB defence and almost immediately was unlucky not to have gotten a penalty having received a lovely through ball from Clodagh Moriarty. However her incessant running finally paid off when she neatly tucked a shot low into the corner after a deft pass from Norma O Mahoney.
It was now all Celtic with Katie O’Mahoney quickly making it 2-1 after a goal mouth scramble in which she dispatched her shot with power and precision.
The third came from an excellent free kick from Katie Doe.
The fourth goal was finished from close range by Saranya Ryan after Grainne Kelliher had powered from left back sprinting the length of the pitch only to have her shot saved, luckily Saranya was smart enough to be in the right place at the right time.
Grainne Kennedy in defence was especially good tonight.
