A very entertaining game played under lights on a fresh Spring evening which served up some excellent play by both sides.
Milltown got off to the better start and deserved their 1-0 lead after ten minutes when a well taken free kick from outside the box found the net.
Celtic improved and seventeen minutes in Eryk McGrath’s powerful shot to the right hand side of the goal after an excellent solo run from close to half way levelled it up.
Two minutes later the visitors retook the lead when their number ten out sprinted the Celtic defence and finished will.
Three minutes into the second half the Milltown number ten claimed his hat trick when he got the ball on the left hand side of the box, he beat the home defence to make it 3-1.
Celtic continued to improve as the game went on and had some excellent moments putting real pressure on the visitors. They pulled one back after some nice play where Darragh Carey connected well with Luke McMahon on the right wing, a superb cross was put into the box where Adam O’Sullivan smashed it home.
Both sides worked really well to create chances and captain Illia Pomishchyk in the Celtic goal played his best game of the season making some great saves.
Milltown made it 4-2 when they broke away after a brave save by their keeper denied Luke McMahon a decent opportunity to level it.
Celtic can be very proud of their effort and work rate.
