🙍♂️KSBGL U13 Boy’s John Joe Naughton Cup/Shield Preliminary Round
Killorglin AFC A 3-1 🇳🇬U13 Boy’s White
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Jace Flynn ⚽️
🙍♂️Player of the Match: Keenan Mccarthy (Centre Defence)
We made the short trip to Killorglin this evening. Conditions were perfect for football and the match was a very evenly contested one for most of the 60 minutes. Killorglin scored early on but we found our composure and could have drawn level on several occasions with David Ajibare and Jace Flynn terrorizing the Killorglin defense. The first half was end to end and it remained one nil to the home side at the break.
We came out stronger in the second half and came close with a few more efforts with Eoin Murphy hitting the crossbar. Mark Mcgee made some very good saves and came off his line several times to clear the danger. Fionn Spellman and Keenan Mccarthy were brilliant in central defense with Josh O' Donoghue and Kyle Fleming battling hard in centre midfield. The direct running of Connor Randles was also causing problems. Killorglin eventually began to pull away when they scored a second and a third shortly after. We emptied our bench and never gave up. We got our reward when the Killorglin keeper couldn't hold a Jace Flynn shot. A very good performance against a team from the division above us and every player gave their all.
👏Thanks to the ref and Killorglin for a sporting game. Best of luck to Killorglin as they progress to the next round of the cup.
