🙎‍♀️Schoolboys/girls Football Association of Ireland Subway U16 Girl’s National Trophy Quarter Final Result
🇳🇬U16 Girl’s 4-2 Maree Oranmore FC
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Holly Forrest (penalty) ⚽️
Sadbh O’Halloran ⚽️⚽️⚽️

🙎‍♀️POTM: Sadbh O’Halloran who was a constant threat from start to finish and struck for spectacular goals at key moments.

On a resplendent afternoon at home Killarney Celtic girls settled into game early and dominated first 25mins. Holly Forrest got the opener from penalty spot after Michelle O’Connor who was causing havoc was brought down inside box. Sadbh O’Halloran got in behind defence to make it 2-0 and Niamh Brosnan went close to increasing lead after 30 mins. Maree Oranmore who are a fine ball playing side thundered into game and made it 2-1 just before halftime.
In the second half at beginning Maree Oranmore pounced again to make it 2-2. At this stage Maree Oranmore were rampant and got a penalty which was well saved by Tara Cronin. Our girls had to dig deep as the game ebbed and flowed both ends, when Sadbh O’Halloran  got a further goal after getting in behind defence again. With the game at a critical juncture Tara Cronin made many brilliant saves and then Sadbh O’Halloran with a wonderful long range strike made it 4-2 and Maree Oranmore who are the best side we have faced this season, fought bravely to the end and the final score line of 4-2 did not reflect what was a titanic struggle.
Our back four all played very well in particular Lauren Buckley and Ciara Forde. Tara Cronin was outstanding in goals. Ali Bowler and Ellen Allman put in hugh shifts in midfield throughout the game, Michelle O‘Connor was on fire 1st half until went off injured but came back on 2nd half and gave us a foothold down left flank with her silky skills. Holly Forrest who played lone striker for spells lead the line magnificently pressing and stretching Maree Oranmore defence.

👏Thanks to Maree Oranmore FC for great game, we wish you all the best with the rest of your season and a safe journey home.
👏Thanks to referee Mark Dineen  who was very efficient.

👏Also shout out to Garry and Ger O’Halloran who looked after hospitality

We roll on to semi final of SFAI Subway U16 Girl’s National Trophy and have plenty of work on us but hopefully this searching examination will bring us on.

👏Well done girls and management
