Today our Ladies played in the senior National Cup for the 1st time in the club's history, so a historic day.
The game was played in fantastic weather and Carrigaline were great opposition who played some lovely soccer.
Our girls were fantastic though and with Amber, Abbie and Hannah pressing up front we got the break through after 10mins. Abbie Finnan won the ball on the left wing, played a through ball for Amber MacIndoe won unselfishly played in Hannh Casey who finished superbly.
Half time 1-0
2nd half the Celtic players came out strong and substitute Holly Forrest was fed the ball in the box and unleashed a shot into the roof of the net.
We continued to press and when the ball fell to Ellie Mai Nugent on the right wing she put in a great cross for Holly to get her 2nd goal.
Norma Mahony who was outstanding in midfield won a great ball and powered through towards goal and lashed the ball from just outside the box and into the bottom left hand corner of the goal giving the keeper no chance.
Overall a great performance by the whole team.
