Celtic U12 Hoops welcomed MEK to Celtic Park. It was a slow start by the home side and inside 2 mins MEK took the lead when Celtic failed to clear a corner. Jack Halloran block the first shot on the line but the follow up was finished to the net. MEK were on top but a couple of good saves by Donnacha Lynch and some resolute defending by Joey Enright, Dylan Brosnan and Conor Clifford, on his return after a long injury lay off, kept the score to 1-0. Celtic started to play their way into the game with Ryan Lowe carrying the ball well and Jason Moloney, Evan Brosnan and Cian O Donnell were working hard in midfield. Celtic should have equalised before half time but Cian O Connells lob over the keeper just bounced wide. HT 0-1.
The 2nd half started with MEK on top and they doubled their lead when they beat the offside trap. It was 3-0 a few minutes later after MEK got a penalty. Donnacht Lynch stopped the spot kick but the rebound fell to MEK forward and he slotted it home. It looked like game over but this Celtic side never give up and they were given hope when Denis Keneally was fouled in the box and Joey Enrights penalty found the rood of the net. Celtic kept pushing and wete rewarded when Denis played in Dwayne Koeller and Dwayne did what Dwayne does and gave the keeper no chance. MEK were dangerous on the break and some strong defensive play by Jack Galvin and James Courtney kept them out. With 2 mins left Celtic got a deserved equaliser when Cian O'Connell was played through by Dwayne and this time he rounded the keeper to complete the comeback. The boys showed great fight and they all played great. MOM Joey Enright.
