Our girls came out on top following a superb team performance against a very well organised Killeshin FC side . Killarney Celtic played against a strong wind in first half and were composed and compact and at HT it was 0-0.
In the second half Tara Cronin keeper with her attacking kickouts gave us a platform and the girls created plenty of chances and Lan O’Connor got a brace of goals with Niamh Brosnan on her return to Celtic colours getting the third goal and we closed the game out.
All the squad contributed but our best performers on the day were Lan O’Connor commanding ball playing centre half, Lauren Buckley whose tackling and interceptions were vital at the back, Ciara Forde imperious left back but our girl of the match was Ali Bowler who gave a defensive masterclass at 6, and we switched her to centre half last third to pick up opposition danger striker and Ali kept her out of game.
