🙎♀️KSBGL U16 Girl’s Premier Result
🇳🇬U16 Girl’s 1-2 Inter Kenmare FC
🇳🇬Goal scorer:
Michelle O’Connor ⚽️
🙎♀️ Girl of Match was Ciara Forde (left back) who has been a warrior for this team for so long and was unbeatable at left back and is now developing the attacking side of her game .
On a lovely evening at Celtic Park for this beautiful game, our girls performed heroically but came up short against a superbly organised Kenmare FC team in a great contest. Kenmare took the lead at the end of Q1, and caused our defence in 1st half a lot of trouble with very good link up play between the lines . Kenmare doubled the lead to leave it 2-0 HT.
In the 2nd half Killarney Celtic dominated and created some scoring chances but the Kenmare rearguard were outstanding. Michelle O’Connor scored superbly following a good pass from Amelia Carroll Kelly with 15m to go and the Celtic girls threw the kitchen sink at Kenmare but the equaliser eluded us. All the girls played their hearts out, and our best performers were Tara Cronin commanding in goals, Ellen Allman interceptions and ability to play out from defence well supported by Lauren Buckley, Ali Bowler hugh workrate in midfield particularly, Amelia Carroll Kelly creativity and link up play as an attacking midfielder, augmented by classy wing play from Michelle O’Connor and upfront Holly Forrest and Sadbh O’Halloran ran themselves into the ground . Special shout out to Keelin O’Shea on her Celtic debut who settled in very well on right wing and got stronger as game went on .
👏Well done to Kenmare FC who were absolutely brilliant on the night.
👏Thanks to Owen Moynihan for efficient refereeing as always .
