🇳🇬U16A Boy’s 1-1 St. Brendan’s Park
🇳🇬Goal scorer:
Luca Mosca ⚽️
🙍♂️MOTM: Daithi Stack-centre half
These teams have always had good battles but a windy Celtic Park made for a tricky game today.
Park scored with the very first attack of the game in the 2nd minute when from a set piece, the ball was delivered into the Celtic box and nodded home.
Celtic composed themselves and played decent ball into a stiff breeze but didn't create too many chances from open play. A couple of well struck Jack O’Grady free kicks did create some opportunities for Celtic and arising from one such set piece Celtic had two chances to score, the keeper with the first stop and the ball was cleared off the Park goal line from the followup strike.
Celtic keeper Ryan Lucy was generally quiet but made a couple of excellent blocks from one on one situations when Park attackers did get opportunities near the celtic box.
Celtic were playing well at the back with Daithi Stack and Mark Looney looking very composed and Sean Horan also continuing his good streak at right back with Lachlan Scannell very calm on the left. In the second half Celtic had the bulk of the possession playing with the wind but did not create too many clear cut chances. Kiernan Kelly did react well to a long ball but his amgled shot which beat the keeper was cleared off the Park goal line. Celtic eventually got back on terms when a Jack O’Grady corner found Luca Mosca at the back post and Luca struck a great volley into the top left corner of the Park goal.
👏Well done boys and management
