🙍♂️KSBGL U12 Boy’s Premier Result & Match Report
🇳🇬U12 Boy’s Green 2-1 Killarney Athletic A.F.C. A
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Sam Fluery ⚽️⚽️
🙍♂️MOTM: Sam Fluery-centre forward.
We welcomed our neighbours to a windy Celtic park under the lights this evening for a tightly contested match.
Athletic scored from a corner which we failed to clear and they kept us under pressure all over the pitch. 0-1 nil HT.
2nd half we sprung to life, Josh Buckley’s super header hit the bar from Rowan Murphy’s corner & JJ Landers clean strike hit the post as we kept the ball in Athletics half.
Apart from the goal our defence had an excellent game with Jamie Downing, Cillian and Andrew Daly, and Rory Murphy in front of Ryan Cronin in goal. Jake Scannell worked tirelessly on the wing.
Athletic were just as organised and it took the introduction of the electric Sam Fluery to equalise with a poachers finish seconds after coming on.
Shortly after Dylan McCarthy beat his marker and his cross was met clean by Sam to go in off the bar for the winner.
Andrew O'Sullivan came on and showed both composure and fight to stop late Athletic attacks.
A real local derby battle but a deserved win for the boys. Without being at their best found a way to win.
👏Thanks to Killarney Athletic and the ref for a very sporting game.
👏Well done boys and management
