In a desperately tight game the girls just about got a win against a very good Listowel side.
A superb strike by Leah Mannix sealed the game with 5 mins to go,hitting the ball low into the left corner from just inside the big box.
Playing with a strong wind the first half went to Listowel who were 1-0 at the break.
The back four of Aimee Shine,Evelyn Grimes,Brid O Connor and Nell Casey soaked up alot of pressure early on with Cara Griffin making a number of important saves.
The introduction of Olga Kumor,Caoimhe Darmody and Jaylinn O’Leary on the left helped the girls going forward in the second half.
As usual Seodhna O’Sullivan and Ava Knee worked hard all day.
Clodagh O’Connor showed her adaptability switching between right and centre midfield and striker.Her first full game was capped off when she scored with a lovely left footed strike midway through the second half.
Having gone ahead through Leah Mannix the last 5 mins were hectic with the home side conceding a number of corners and a close in free kick.
Niamh O Leary was an example of hard work and determination.
