🙎♀️Girl of the match goes to Grainne Kennedy who was outstanding in defence again tonight.
This evening we faced off against a really strong L.B. team.
As always the Celtic girls did their best to play attractive football but the conditions were tough with a strong gale blowing which made it much harder to play our possession based style.
Our midfield of Ellie Mai Nugent and Abbie Finnan did their best to get quality ball up to Saranya Ryan, Saranya just back from injury was excellent up front especially against physically stronger players.
Our defence was solid throughout the entire match and kept L.B to long range efforts, any that got through were well dealt with by the amazing Tara Cronin who at 15 years old is now playing for 3 teams in Celtic.
In the last 10mins of the match we finally made the break through, Katie Doe in midfield played a defence splitting pass to Amelia Carroll Kelly (also 15yrs old) who beat her player and got her shot off only for the keeper to save but spill, Amelia reacted quickly turned onto her trusty left boot and shot across the box where the hard working Hannah Casey was running in to meet it at the back post to bang in.
