MEK B 5-2 🇳🇬U12 Boy’s Hoops

The U12 Hoops made the short trip to Fossa to play MEK. On a sticky pitch both teams tried to play passing soccer and it was even enough for the 1st 10mins with chances at either end. The deadlock was broken after 10mins when a ball played in behind the Celtic defence who were playing a high line, found an MEK player and he finished past Joey O'Connor in goal. This knocked Celtic back at bit and a 2nd followed when we were caught in possession and again left our keeper one on one. Celtic battled hard after this and started to string a few passes together and Karam, Cian and Connell all had chances before half to to cut the deficit. HALF TIME 2-0 Celtic needed a fast start to the 2nd half they got just that when Evan Brosnan scored after 30 2nds following good build up play by Kuba and Denis Kenneally. We pushed for an equaliser but got caught on the break by MEK who were very good on the counter. The boys kept battling and Cian came close again to cutting the lead. We kept pushing and again were caught at the back as MEK made it 4-1. We didn't give up and Dwayne rifled home a loose ball after MEK failed to clear a corner. It was all Celtic now and we could have added a 3rd as we put pressure on the MEK defence but as was the story of the game MEK broke fast just before the end to put a flattering look on the scoreline. It finished 5-2 to MEK.
All the boys played their heart out with Jack H, Jack G, James, Connor, Dylan and James battling hard at the back. Kuba, Evan, Karam, Jason and Connell worked their socks of in midfield and Dwayne, Denis and Cian kept running til the end. There will be better days.
