🇳🇬U16A Boy’s 3-4 Mastergeeha A
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Jack O'Grady ⚽️⚽️
Luca Mosca ⚽️
🙍♂️Celtic MOTM : Dara Horan (LM)
Capt. Samuel Scroope
Celtic started very poorly in this local Derby game against a strong Mastergeeha side - within the first five minutes Mastergeeha had already scored twice.
Celtic woke up somewhat after that and started to work a way back into the game but weren't able to create many clear cut chances.
However a good strike from Jack O’Grady from range from a Mastergeeha clearance, after good work by Dara Horan and Samuel Scroope created the initial opportunity.
Celtic were chasing the game and starting to control the ball a little bit better both were caught with a good Mastergeeha counterattack down the left-hand side - where most of their threats had emanated. This left the score at 3-1 to the visitors but Celtic went close from a number of shots from Sean Collins Jack O'Grady & Samuel's Scroope and closest of all Lachlan Scannell who had a great strike from range just saved under the crossbar by the Geeha keeper.
Celtic had a good discussion at half time about the poor start to the game and started the second half much more positively. Celtic dominated the bulk of the possession and chances in that second half as they chased the two goal deficit. Mastergeeha were resolute in defence but Celtic continued to create opportunities - but lost momentum when Mastergeeha were presented with the easiest of chances after the Celtic keeper overplayed the ball in his own box leaving a tap in score.
To the lads credit they rallied and in the last quarter of the game created enough chances to level the game. Captain Samuel Scroope was close on a number of occasions as was Iggy Truchan and Celtic looked dangerous from free kicks and corners.
Luca Mosca got our second goal to give Celtic some hope and they continued to chase the game into injury time when a long range strike from Jack O'Grady was deflected past the keeper.
Celtic tried to get one more chance before referee Paddy Osborne blew the final whistle. in a game which was very similar to last year's under 15 Cup final that final chance just never came for Killarney Celtic.
Best for Celtic was Dara Horan who had tremendous application, ball winning and link up play from the wide left position but good games were had by Jack O'Grady and Samuel Scroope who on another day would have had a few goals to his name.
👏Thanks to Mastergeeha for an entertaining and sporting game.
👏Thanks to ref Paddy Osbourne.
