🙍♂️KSBGL U15 Boy’s Division 2 Result & Match Report
🇳🇬U15B Boy’s 5-2 Killarney Athletic B
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Majd Khaleel ⚽⚽
Simon Sirotiak ⚽⚽
Hammad Atiq ⚽
🙍♂️ player of the game was Hammad Atiq for his selfless running he never gave Athletic a minutes peace and he created a number of chances for the team and scored a good goal too.
The wind had a big impact on this keenly contested local Derby but it was Celtic who used it best. Captain on the night Joey O'Callaghan won the toss and we played with the wind in the 1st half. Both teams had a few half chances before Celtic got the opening goal Hammad chased down what looked like a lost cause and crossed for Majd who fired home at the far post. Shortly afterwards Simon won a ball in Midfield and a great run and pass saw him set Hammad through on goal and his powerful finish put us 2 up. Athletic enjoyed their best spell in the half and deservedly got a goal back. Celtic however scored a 3rd seconds later when Simon curled one in directly from a corner and he added another before half time when he returned a partially cleared corner to the back of the Net.
The 2nd half was more difficult for Celtic and they needed Darren and his defenders Joey, Fionn, Albjon, Marc and Michael to keep Athletic at bay. Athletic had a few chances to score and did get a goal back when a long range shot went in to the roof of the net. Celtic wobbled a little after that but a great run by Josh got Celtic a corner and Majd headed home to restore our 3 goal lead and helped calm us down. There were chances for both teams but no more goals.
👏Thanks to Athletic for the sporting game and to Tom Kerrisk for leaving the game flow.
👏Best on the night for Celtic were Joey O'Callaghan, Michael Bowler and Albjon Madani .
👏Well done boys and management
