We travelled to Kenmare this afternoon for our 2nd u17s match. Both teams were very evenly matched early on but the Celtic girls did start to apply some good pressure. Sadbh O'Halloran burst down the right wing and sent in a lovely cross which was deflected in by the kenmare defence to give us a 1-0 advantage at the break.

We knew Kenmare would come back at us and within 5mins of the restart made it 1-1, a poor clearance from our defence left the Kenmare striker 1 v1 with our excellent keeper Tara Cronin who did all she could to put the forward off but unfortunately she managed to slot it into the far corner.
Not to be outdone Ali Bowler burst through and sent a cracking shot into the roof of the net. This was followed by a penalty which Lan O’Connor dispatched superbly into the bottom corner. The Celtic girls were flying now and when Hannah Casey beat the defender on the right wing and sent in a wonderful cross and Saranya Ryan burst through to volley it home and make the scoreline 4-1 in our favour.

All girls played extremely well, Lauren Buckley,  Hannah and Ciara Casey were outstanding but girl of the match goes to Emily Buckley who always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
