Our lads started with patience against the well setup visitors, controlling the ball and using the flanks well.
Newmarket were dogged in the last third and hard to breakdown.
A couple of Jack Grady’s corners led to good chances and from his third delivery Mark Looney rose superbly to head the opener.
Celtic continued to dominate but Newmarket defended and their keeper was making good saves from long range shots. The visitors created a couple of chances but Luca and Mark were alert as was keeper Ryan Lucey.
After a good start to the second half a well worked ball down the right saw Sean Horan deliver from the corner for Sean Collins to sweep home.
Celtic relaxed and with Newmarkets key threat off the pitch with an ankle injury, the chances were starting to open up.
Samuel Scroope scored a lovely third and good follow up for the fourth while Jack Culloty’s free kick from wide on the left was spilled by the otherwise flawless Newmarket keeper for a 5th.
Celtic created more chances with Kiernan, Nando, Ignacy and Dara all going close.
Great performances all over the pitch.
We'll give to Jack O’Grady but Jack Culloty, Mark, Lachlan Scannell Samuel and Luca were all excellent.
👏Thanks to Newmarket for a sporting game and we wish them well for the rest of the season.
👏Tom Kerrisk was very good with the whistle and contributed to an open game.
👏Thanks to the club for the pizzas for both teams afterwards.
👏Well done boy’s & management
