🇳🇬Our U16 Girls are League Champions
Listowel Celtic 0-3 🇳🇬U16 Girls
🇳🇬Goal scorers:
Sadbh O’Halloran ⚽️⚽️
Sarah Warren ⚽️
Player of the match: goes to Hannah Casey who also Captained the team on the night.
It was a battle of the 2 Celtics to see who would come out of top of the Premier. On their last meeting Listowel took the 3 points with a 1-0 win.
The Killarney girls travelled to Listowel with a point to prove and they certainly did that. Every girl went out on the pitch and gave it 110% for the 80mins. It was a very physical battle from the start but it was Killarney that had the more clear cut chances. We took the lead from an absolute cracker shot from Sadbh O’Halloran just before half time.
Listowel dominated the start of the second half but our very solid defence kept them at bay throughout.
The Killarney girls continued to work hard and it paid off as Sarah Warren broke through the compact Listowel defence to give us a 2-0 lead. Sadbh shortly after went on a solo run with a shot stopped by the opposition goalkeeper, but she followed it up with a tap in from the rebound.
An allround excellent performance from everyone of the girls. They all knew that it was only a win that would secure the title.
Full squad
