OG ⚽️
💁♂️Player of the Match: Conor Doherty
Our U12 Green team completed the double today. They started the season with a hard fought 2 nil against the Park and finished it off with a resounding 5-0 win.
Park started the game the brighter and hit the bar early on, it was evident our boys were rusty as only play 3 games since February!
Our keeper Tiernan Cronin was as always assured, the back line of Evan O’Donoghue ,James Brosnan, Cillian Daly and Fionn Culloty are all outstanding defenders, not much gets past them as you will see with the end of season stats reading 4 goals conceded in the league and they went through a cup run without conceding a goal. A record any team would be proud of.
Midfielders of Paul McGrath , JJ Landers, Dylan McCarthy , Sean Doyle and Conor Doherty are the level every player in the county should aspire to emulate.
Up front is a tireless job, Cathal O’Donovan, Jack Kissane and Cillian Scannell are all exceptional players and bring something different to the attack.
Back to the game, Cillian Scannell got the first of his 3 goals from a breakaway pass from Connor Doherty and Celtic went in 1 up against a breeze.
The second half, the game opened up. Unfortunately for the Park an OG, after that Celtic were relentless.
Cillian Scannell got his second with a great strike from outside the box. 3-0 Celtic
Conor Doherty made it 4-0 . He got his goal that he gets most games , another great strike.
After that Cillian Scannell got his third from another long range effort to seal a great all round performance from a classy Celtic side.
MOTM was Conor Doherty and rightly deserved. Cillian Scannell was exceptional today but it really is a team effort and without all the other boys it’s not possible.
The Park can hold their head high with a very spirited performance.
👏Thanks to the Park for a very sporting game and ref.
Celtics future is bright 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
🏆🏆Double League and Cup Champions
👏Well done boys, Pa & Adrian
