Celtic missed a couple of early chances to go ahead and a lucky free kick from the halfway line saw castleisland take the lead midway through the half. Celtic dominated possession towards the end of the half and were unlucky not to score , hitting the woodwork through Pa O’Brien and Jack Grady.

Second half was a dominant display with Cillain Coffey and Pa O’Brien constantly a threat with Pa hitting the frame of the goal on 2 more occasions. The Celtic defense and midfield were strong throughout, however Castleisland did win a penalty from a counter attack which Declan Grimes saved. Celtic fought to the end and it just wasn't to be on the day.
