Caoimhe OSullivan ⚽️
The U16 girls made the long journey to a picturesque Cahersiveen pitch this afternoon. We were very short numbers but the U15 girls really stepped up to the challenge to make sure the fixture was played. It was another huge performance from this determined group. We started off well and scored an early goal and kept the pressure on the opposition but it was hard to get through their compact defence and good goalkeeping. However Iveragh found a gap in our tight defence with a slip through ball and their speedy attacker found the back of the net.
Within 5 minutes Emma got her 2nd of the half with a lovely pass from the left wing from Caoimhe.
The second half was dominated by our girls in green who played lovely football in the middle of the park Sadbh, Lan, Hannah and Amelia (who captained the side today on her birthday). Our defence Saranya, Sarah, Ellen and Caoimhe led by goalkeeper Tara were so solid throughout. Sadbh using the players around her went on a great run, and was rewarded with a goal for her superb performance. Muireann and Puttanya really supported Emma up top who then got her third goal to ensure we were coming back to Killarney with the 3 points. A few minutes before the final whistle, Celtic were given a penalty and Caoimhe finished to nicely to end the game 5-1.
👏Massive well done to girls who have have racked up 17 goals in our last 3 games. They are a lovely group of girls who are always so encouraging to eachother.
👏Thanks again to Mike, Eamonn and David for their help on the sideline and to the parents for making the journey to Cahersiveen.
Great performances today from Lan, Sadbh, Amelia and Saranya but player of the game goes to Caoimhe OSullivan who is excelling in her new position and is turning into a great leader on the pitch.
👏Well done girls and management
Goal from a penalty for Caoimhe OSullivan, thanks to David Cronin for the video.
