MOTM: Mark Looney

In a very different game to Tuesday's Storm Jocelyn battle with Dynamos, Celtic got back to playing good football in an open game with a young Kenmare side who also like to play the game the right way.

Celtic found their rhythm early in the game with Luca Mosca looking dangerous on the left wing and Luke O'Shea and James Murphy creating on the right.

Jack O'Grady went close from a free kick and from the resultant corner Mark Looney rose to meet James' corner and head strongly into the net.

Shortly afterwards Samuel Scroope scored a lovely header running to the near post after good work by Luke on the right.

Samuel got a lovely third goal from a powerful run and tight finish from the left side of the Kenmare box.

Kenmare called Ryan Lucey into action a couple of times during the half and the Celtic keeper did well when faced with danger.

Although Celtic didn't score in the second half some of their combination play, possession and gegenpressung (thanks Jurgen!) was a joy to watch.

Lachlan Scannell, Dara Horan, Sean Colliins, Jack Culloty and Ryan Downing all involved with Jack O'Grady pulling the strings in midfield.

The two Jack's went close on multiple occasions with Ryan and Dara also going close.

When Kenmare threatened, Daithi Stack and Mark Looney were strong and quick and often turned defence into attack with James and Samuel offering pacey transitions.

Kenmare played until the final whistle and showed plenty of quality.

The game was excellently refereed and positive support for both teams contributed to a sporting occasion.

👏Well done boys and management
