Another fantastic performance from Celtic u12 Green this morning.

A cup game neither team would have wanted . So many friends in both teams , but there had to be a winner.

It was Celtic playing a high tempo game that took the game to Athletic from kick off and credit to an Athletic team that battled until the end.

Celtic played against a wind in the first half.

Celtics strong midfield of Paul McGrath, Conor Doherty, Sean Doyle and Dylan McCarthy linked well with their forward line led by Cillian Scannell, Cathal O’Donavan and Jack Kissane .

Their back line of Tiernan Cronin in goal Jj Landers, Fionn Culloty, Cillian Daly and MOTM Evan O’Donoghue were ruthless all day.

Celtic had strength throughout the squad and the substitutes coming on were every bit as good as what was going off .

Cathal O’Donavan broke the deadlock early and it was his fast throw that set up Conor Doherty for solo run and great finish for the Second.

The third came by a lovely cross by Jj Landers that met Paul McGrath at the back post and he finished with a great shot in mid air.

After Celtic applied lots of pressure and Celtic’s solid backline that broke down everything Athletic threw at them , Celtic went in 3-0 and deservingly so.

The second half was very much the same as the first and Celtic can thank their two captains for the year Conor Doherty and Cillian Scannell for adding two fantastic solo goals in the second half to add to the score and stretch the lead.

Some great challenges from Evan O’Donoghue, Fionn Culloty and Jj Landers kept Athletic’s chances to a minimum.

Jack Kissane and Sean Doyle put plenty of pressure on Athletic all day.

Again credit to Athletic who fought very hard until the end but unfortunately came up against a hungrier Celtic team on the day.

A Celtic team that have been playing some really good soccer all season and anyone at the game could see are a joy to watch.

Best on the day for Celtic : Paul McGrath, Conor Doherty, Cillian Scannell, Fionn Culloty and MOTM Evan o Donoghue .
