In a pulsating local derby Celtic came out the right side against a brave MEK side. All through the game Carroll Kelly and Ali Bowler caused lots of problems down the flanks augmented by Lan O‘Connor who pulled the strings in midfield and had the best early chance to score. The opening score came from Ella Murphy who got in behind the MEK defence and finished expertly. HT 1-0 , in the second half Killarney Celtic created several chances , Amelia Carroll struck crossbar twice from penalty she won, and shot from edge of box , Ali Bowler stretched the MEK defence regularly. Sadbh O‘Brien increased Celtic lead with great long free kick strike . The full backs Lauren Buckley , and Ciara Forde defended brilliantly and centre back Sadbh O’ Brien was solid all through, and Tara Cronin was excellent in goals when called upon.MEK scored a great free kick in the closing stages through Izzy Lyons but Killarney Celtic closed the game out. The Celtic girls battled well all through but there is plenty room for improvement going forward particularly clinical finishing and better decision making on the ball. Brian Spillane did a great job as referee .

Girl of the Match was Ellen Allman who was majestic at the back , reading and breaking up the play , tackling, and passing accurately.
